    Getting Started with Corrective Actions

The Corrective Actions module allows users to generate corrective action plans and safety action items.  Tracking the assignment and status of problem reports enables timely completion of corrective action plans and improved safety.  Automatic email alerts notify responsible parties of open, overdue, and closed corrective actions

If you are setting up a new site, you will need to add your facilities (locations) to your IndustrySafe site before you can add a corrective action.  See the Getting Started Guide for more information on this set-up (attached).

The Corrective Actions End User Guide can be viewed here: Corrective Actions End User Guide

If you are using the IndustrySafe Demo Site or your site has already been set up, follow these steps to add an unlinked corrective action.

    • Open the Corrective Actions module by selecting the Corrective Actions tab in the main menu.
    • On the horizontal menu select Add New Action.
    • Complete the appropriate fields, including the required fields.
    • Select the Save button.
    • If all required fields are complete and all data is in a valid format, the successful save message will appear.

Follow these steps to add a corrective action linked to another record (incident, inspection, hazard, observation, etc.):

    • On the recording for of the originating record (the Incident Investigation Form for example) click on the corrective action button.
    • Your information will be saved and you will be taken to the corrective action recording form.
    • Notice that many of the fields in the basic information section have been populated with information from the originating record.
    • Complete the appropriate fields, including the required fields.
    • Select the Save button.
    • If all required fields are complete and all data is in a valid format, the successful save message will appear.
    • To add a new corrective action select the Save and Add button.
    • To return to the originating record, click on the Originating System ID in the Basic Information Section.

View the Quick Start Guide here.

    NOTE:
When you select a responsible party on the corrective action form, that person will receive an email alert indicating that they have been assigned a corrective action.  If the corrective action is not completed, the responsible party will receive reminder alerts before the corrective action comes due as well as if it goes overdue.
