    Getting Started:

If you are setting up a new site, you will need to add your facilities (locations) (and employees or contractors to your IndustrySafe site) and data in the module (i.e. incidents, training, corrective actions) for the key safety performance indicators you want to view before you can view the indicators.  See the Getting Started Guide for more information on this set-up (attached).

If you are using the IndustrySafe Demo Site (or your site has been set up), follow these steps to review Key Safety Performance Indicators in the Dashboard:

    1. Go to the Dashboard module by selecting the Dashboard tab
    2. Select the Dashboard Tab you wish to View
    3. To change the reports displayed in a dashboard tab, select the gear button in the upper right of the tab to add panels.
    4. Click the Add button next to the reports you wish to view.  You may use the search box at the beginning to search for a Report (the search is case sensitive).
    5. Click the Done button
    6. The indicators you selected will be displayed in the first column of the dashboard.
    7. You may arrange the panels by clicking on a report title and dragging it to a new location.
    8. You can also filter you Indicators by Date Range, Locations, and Individual (Depending on the Indicator).
    9. To remove a panel, click on the gear to the right of the panel’s report title and select Remove.

Copying, Exporting, and Printing a Dashboard

If you have Windows 7 or later, you can use the “Snipping Tool” to capture an image from a portion of your screen (such as a chart) and then paste it into a document.  To do this, follow these steps:

    1. In Windows, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Snipping Tool.
    2. Using the select feature that opens, draw a rectangle around the image you want to capture.
    3. Open Paint, PowerPoint, or Word and hold “Ctrl” and press “V”. The screen shot you captured will be pasted into your document.
    4. You may then use the Crop and Resize tools in Paint, PowerPoint, or Word to reformat the image.

    Screen Shot

Using the “Screen Shot” Feature of Windows, you can capture an image of your screen and paste it into a document. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Holding “Alt” and pressing the “PrntScr” button (normally above the keypad) will capture an image of the current window.
    2. Open Paint, PowerPoint, or Word and hold “Ctrl” and press “V”. The image you captured will be pasted into your document.
    3. You may then use the Crop and Resize tools in Paint, PowerPoint, or Word to reformat the image.

    Save Image As…

You can right click on an individual chart and select the “Save Image As…” option. You may then save the image in the PNG format and insert that file into Word documents and Power Point presentations.

    Export to PDF Link
You can use the Export to PDF link at the bottom of the dashboard page to export all the charts to a PDF document and copy them from there into another document. To do this, follow the steps below.

    1. Select the tab containing the reports you wish to copy, export, or print.
    2. Arrange the panels you wish to export into two columns at the left side of the dashboard by clicking the titles and dragging each panel to the appropriate location.
    3. Click on the Export to PDF link at the bottom of the dashboard page.
    4. A PDF document will open containing the charts and graphs from the tab you exported.
    5. You may then copy the reports to another document, and then print them.

    NOTE:
A recommendation for cleaning up screen shots is to use Paint, PowerPoint, or Word’s Picture cropping features. This will allow you to “cut out” the panels you wish to view, and also allows for resizing the panel.

For more information on configuring your dashboard, see the Dashboard category.

Drill Down Capabilities in the Dashboard

The IndustrySafe Dashboard allows you to change the size of pie and bar charts by clicking and dragging the resize bars at the side and bottom of these reports. Just drag the bar to resize the report. If some values in the legend of a pie chart are hidden, you can drag the bottom resize bar down to see all the values.

For more information on configuring your dashboard, see the Dashboard category.

Changing the Date Range for a Report in the Dashboard

The IndustrySafe Dashboard allows you to change the date range for reports in two ways. By default, all reports use the custom date range that is specified in the Custom Date Range panel. When the custom date range is changed, the change applies to all dashboard tabs regardless of where it is changed. Reports in individual panels may also be filtered to show data for Year to Date, Last Month, Last Quarter, Past 12 Months, Last Year, and Previous Year to Date.

To change the type of date range filter used for an individual report
    1. Click the Edit button in the gear of the panel, found in the upper right.
    2. Select the date range filter you wish to use.
    3. Click the Done button to apply your changes.

You may make other changes to individual reports in this way, such as setting the ranges for speedometer gauges and filtering certain reports by individual.

If you can’t find the Custom Date Range panel, you may add it to a tab by following these steps.

    1. Click on the gear button in the upper right of your tab.
    2. Scroll down to the Custom Date Range panel.
    3. Click the Add button next to the Custom Date Range panel.
    4. Click the Done button.
    5. The Custom Date Range panel will now be displayed in the first column of the dashboard.
