What is an OSHA recordable incident? [Video]

Posted by admin on December 11, 2015

In order to maintain OSHA compliance, employers must record certain types of injuries and illnesses that take place in the workplace on the appropriate recordkeeping logs. Generally, a work-related incident must be recorded if the injury requires medical treatment beyond first aid or if it involves any of the following circumstances.

An employee's loss of consciousness, hearing loss, contraction of tuberculosis, needlestick injuries or death.

An incident also must be recorded if an employee spends days away from work, experiences a job transfer or performs a restricted work activity.
